Mahjong Tiles Game
Play:  Small | Medium | Large

This Mahjong tiles game is a cute Looney Tunes version of the classic Chinese logic game.

The object is to remove as many tiles as possible from the board.

To begin, click the Small, Medium, or Large link under the picture of the game. This opens the game in a pop-up window.

Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Road Runner, bombs, anvils, and all kinds of other cartoon images are on these tiles.

After solving the puzzle, you can play again with the tiles re-mixed. Just close the game window and re-open it.

HOW TO PLAY. Tiles are removed by matching pairs which can only be removed from the left or right edges. Any tile not on a left or right edge is considered blocked and cannot be selected or removed.

Note, though, that the tiles are arranged in 5 levels, and each level has a left and right edge, so there are many more unblocked tiles than first appears.

You can click the "Hint" button to see what matches can be made, but it will cost you 25 points.

The 72 tiles placed on the board are categorized like this:

  • 4 duplicates of 9 character's faces, for a total of 36 tiles.

  • 4 anvil tiles.

  • 4 WB Looney Tunes logo tiles.

  • 4 duplicates of 2 bombs (numbered 1 and 2) for a total of 8 tiles.

  • 4 duplicates of 3 dynamite sticks (numbered 1 to 3) for a total of 12 tiles.

  • 4 duplicates of 2 ACME boxes (numbered 1 and 2) for a total of 8 tiles.

There is also a timer in the upper right, so you can keep track of how long it takes you to complete the level.

I found it a little hard to see which blocks were "unblocked". The trick is to hover your mouse over the tiles. Only unblocked tiles can be highlighted with the mouse.

I had the best luck clearing the board when I focused on eliminating centrally located tiles. In other words, when you can choose between clearing a tile that covers another tile or clearing a tile that's sitting by itself on the bottom level, always clear the tile that's hiding another tile.
