I've created 15 free printable Christmas word search puzzles, from an eight-word starter puzzle to harder 20 × 20 grids. There is also a large print edition. Every puzzle has a separate answer key.

How to Solve the Puzzles

Circle each hidden word in the grid, then cross it off the word bank. Words always follow a straight line. Easy and large-print puzzles use left-to-right and downward words. Medium and hard puzzles may also use backward and diagonal words.

Some word-bank entries include lowercase words for context. Only the uppercase word is hidden in the grid. For example, in ROLLING pin, look for ROLLING. When an all-uppercase phrase contains a space, such as NORTH POLE, ignore the space in the grid.

Choosing a Christmas Word Search

For beginning readers, start with Christmas Starter or My First Christmas. Santa and Reindeer and Christmas Decorations provide larger easy grids. The medium puzzles cover classic Christmas themes, the Nativity story, Santa's workshop, baking, carols, and parties.

Adults and experienced solvers can choose the vocabulary, history and traditions, around-the-world, or A Christmas Carol challenges. The large-print puzzle is useful when bigger lettering makes solving more comfortable.
