Enjoy a few minutes of wordplay with these free printable word scrambles for adults. I've put together 40 themed puzzles with separate answer keys: 10 Easy, 20 Medium, and 10 Hard.
Explore everyday interests, food, travel, nature, the arts, and more, from a relaxed Coffee Break to a challenging Astronomy scramble.
Each row contains the letters of one word in a mixed-up order. Rearrange them to find a word that fits the theme, then write your answer in the blanks. Every puzzle and answer key fits on its own page.
To print or save a puzzle, select its picture or title, then choose Print This Page. In your browser's print window, select your printer or Save as PDF. The Solution link opens the matching answer key. Puzzle and solution pages open in a new tab.
Start with Easy if you would like first-letter hints, try Medium for a puzzle without hints, or choose Hard for longer words and a more specialized theme. You can solve them on your own or compare answers with a friend. The puzzles use U.S. spelling; Classical Composers uses surnames.
Start with these 10 puzzles, each with 10 familiar words and the first letter of every answer already filled in. Choose a coffee break, a trip to the farmers market, gardening, fishing, or another everyday theme.
Choose from 20 puzzles with 12 words each and no first-letter hints. Themes include train travel, movies, books, baking, wildlife, music, and hobbies. Use the title to narrow down the possible answers.
These 10 puzzles have 14 words each, including longer words, specialized vocabulary, and composer surnames. Every letter has been moved away from its position in the answer. Your familiarity with architecture, astronomy, geology, and the other themes will also affect the challenge.
Yes. You can print the puzzles and answer keys or save them as PDFs for free. No account or sign-up is required.
Select Solution beneath a puzzle on this page, or Puzzle Solution on the puzzle's print page. Each key repeats the scrambled words alongside their answers, with matching row numbers.
Open the puzzle, then select Print This Page. The print layout includes the puzzle sheet and its copyright line. The navigation buttons and on-screen ads do not print. Use the same button on an answer-key page to print its solution separately.
Yes. Choose Print This Page, then select Save as PDF or your browser's equivalent option instead of a printer. Repeat from the solution page if you would also like a copy of the answers.
Try an Easy puzzle first if you want a gentle introduction. Its first-letter hints narrow the possibilities. Medium puzzles have 12 words without hints; Hard puzzles have 14 words and more specialized themes. The difficulty labels are guides, so choose a topic you enjoy and take as much time as you like.
Yes. You may print and share copies for home, classroom, church, club, workplace, care-home, or other organizational activities. Keep the copyright and usage lines in place, and do not sell the puzzles.
