I lose control of my memory
by Roaa Adnane
(Casablanca, Morocco)
I have been taking antidepression medications for more than 11 years and in the last three years I have tried several times to hurt myself using medications... Time passed, then I had an accident and severe psychological and personal problems.
Later I started to forget things I did in the night before, and as time passed I started confusing between real things and things that I dreamed of. These last days things got worst I was very angy and hopeless.
I was speaking with my husband, when I stopped and I asked him who am I and what are we speaking about?
I realized that I have forgotten the most important events in my life especially the bad ones. I don't need to say that now I forget the names of friends and family members, and I have become unable to count money. To avoid this I try to pay only by card.
Thank you for sharing with me your time.
Doug's Reply. Roaa, I am sorry to hear about your troubles. What a very, very difficult time you are having.
I sure hope that you are seeing a doctor about this. Your memory problems are some of the worst I've heard of. You absolutely need to consult with the appropriate medical professionals to see what can be done.
Thank you for sharing your story. Once again, the rest of us can be thankful that the problems we have are not as bad as they could be. It is easy to feel sorry for oneself. But all the average person has to do is listen to a story like Roaa's to realize they should better appreciate what is good in their life.
Roaa, I hope things turn around for you. Best of luck as you look for solutions. Please do go see a doctor.
I shall keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Best regards,
Douglas
