Fibromyalgia

I was wondering if this all holds true for fibromyalgia?
Doug's Reply: I'm aware that side effects of fibromyalgia include memory and cognitive difficulties. However, I don't know whether these side effects are alleviated by improving your diet, exercising more, and getting better sleep.
Importantly, I would think that memory techniques should still work. These techniques create "handles" in your mind by which you can retrieve information from your brain more easily. As long as you create the handles (i.e., use the techniques properly), they should be effective regardless of whether you have fibromyalgia or any other condition.
I would also guess that anything which takes your mind off the pain of the disease is going to be beneficial. So meditation is definitely something to try for that reason and because it can improve concentration.
Whether brain games, brain foods, and brain vitamins would help you, I don't know. So the answer is probably that yes, some of the lifestyle suggestions and techniques could be of help with fibromyalgia-related memory issues.
