Sir, I have been suffering from mental problem for last 4 to 5 years. My parents had tried so many medication method for me to improve myself.
Even I visited NIMHANS, Bangalore. The doctor at there told that i had depression , social phobia & anxiety disorder. I am taking Stalopam 20 Tablets, Bupron 150, Clonotril. 5 (sometime) and also Divya medha vati & aswagandha. I am not feeling that any benefit gained from there.
So, Please suggest what should I need to do to over come from the situation.
Doug's Reply. Your problems seem quite severe. So please do continue visiting your doctor as often as necessary for further evaluation and treatment.
Keep in mind, this is not medical advice. But many people seem to find relief from anxiety and depression through Meditation. The practice of meditation calms the brain, brings peace to the mind, and enhances concentration.
The idea behind meditation is to temporarily forget about all your external problems and distractions, and focus on your inner self. Perhaps the easiest method is "mindfulness meditation" which is based on awareness breathing. It does not require any special equipment or difficult training. It is also called "awareness" or "insight" meditation.
There is a link to a free mindfulness meditation website on my
Meditation and Memory page. That site has a short, free video that explains how to do it.
You might want to try meditating at least once or twice each day. Maybe for 10 or 20 minutes when you first get up in the morning, find a quiet place to practice mindfulness breathing. Then, at the end of the day, meditate again before you go to sleep.
Best of luck to you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Regards,
Douglas J.
